Poker Evolver Review

Poker Evolver is one of the oldest poker HUD trackers but unfortunately it haven’t been updated in a while. You can still download a copy of it (free download here) but there are no updates recently and from the looks of it – there never will be.

With that been said – here is our review:

Poker Evolver is the great poker tracking software with integrated HUD on the internet.  Aimed specifically at new players, Poker Evolver has developed a poker tracker for the simple-minded with easy-to-use features.

It is a very good product, perfect for low stakes players just looking for a basic HUD and not obsessed with having the most advanced gadget on the market.

Poker Evolver has a lot to offer, however what lets it down most is that you can only use it at smaller rooms (iPoker, Entraction or Ongame networks).

You can use it on PokerStars and Partypoker, but not Full Tilt Poker, Carbon Poker, Ultimate Bet or Bodog.  Perhaps for many players this isn’t a problem, but considering Holdem Manager costs the   same amount and can be used anywhere else, it seems pointless buying similar software with such limitations.

The HUD works flawlessly and its transparent display box makes playing poker easier.  The HUD stats can be seen in a small box allowing you to check whether a player is tight, aggressive or loose/new.  You can choose any of the regular HUD stats you get on other tools such as VPIP, 3bet% fold-to 3bet% etc.

The Texas Holdem Analysis lacks features in comparison to other products like Holdem Manager.  I think this has been done intentionally for simplicity, with the product focused on a less experience user than Holdem Manager.

In conclusion

Poker Evolver is free and you can really go wrong with free. It will do no harm if you’re playing at PokerStars, PartyPoker or Titan.  However there are better tracking tools (check out our Holdem Manager review) and HUD’s on the market that you should take a look at.
